Every SEMA build has a story and this one started with a dream, a long drive from Idaho, and a 72-hour sprint to make it happen.
Back in June, Jason Monroe, founder of Monroe Media and partner with Blue Line Co., reached out to us at OK4WD with a vision: to transform his brand-new INEOS Grenadier into the ultimate overlanding rig. He needed something capable of taking him from filming sets to fly-fishing streams across the country off the beaten path.
Jason’s career as a traveling content creator has taken him everywhere from MMA arenas and Red Bull events to international sports documentaries. His passion for storytelling and the freedom of the open road led him to combine his two worlds—fly-fishing and overlanding—into a documentary series that’s already become YouTube’s most successful overlanding fly-fishing production, with over 4 million views and features in Overland Journal and Expedition Portal.
His idea for the Grenadier build centered around one key piece: the Alu-Cab Silenus Roof Conversion. But this isn’t your average shop installation. The Silenus Roof Conversion requires precision, skill, and a fair amount of courage. After all, step one involves taking a saw to the roof of your brand-new Grenadier.
A Chance Meeting & a Tight Timeline
After some early planning and a busy summer, the project reignited at X Overland’s “The Big Thing” event in July. Jason crossed paths with OK4WD owner and founder Jim Oostdyk, who was camping in our own Grenadier build outfitted with the Silenus Conversion and a full GP Factor interior. That encounter reignited the spark, and before long, plans were back in motion.
Fast forward to late October, with SEMA just days away, Jason and his dad packed up and drove over 2,400 miles from Boise, Idaho, to Stewartsville, New Jersey. Their mission? Hand over the keys and trust the OK4WD team to make magic happen, all within just 72 hours before Jason needed to hit the road again and head west for SEMA ’25 in Las Vegas.
The Build: 72 Hours of Precision and Passion
What followed was a true non-stop team effort, the kind of push that defines the spirit of OK4WD and what excites us most. In just three days, our crew:
- Removed and cut the factory roof of the INEOS Grenadier

- Installed the Alu-Cab Silenus Roof Conversion

- Built out the complete GP Factor Interior, including kitchen and storage systems

- Wired the truck for solar and power, using a Redarc BCDC Alpha 50, Redarc 12V 150Ah Lithium Battery, and two 100W Sunflare Solar Blox Panels (a brand-new product that arrived at our shop the day of the install for the first time!)

- Added an Alu-Cab 270° Awning on the driver’s side and a Shower Cube on the passenger side

- Installed a National Luna 60L Smart Fridge, paired with a one-burner stove, sink, and 8-gallon water tanks
To round it out, the build included contributions from top-tier partners like Wescott Designs, Nacho Offroad, Magnaflow, Buzz Overland, Agile Offroad, Big Sky Rod Box, Hest, Roam Rest, and more. By the time the final MOLLE panel was fitted and wiring checked, Jason’s Grenadier had transformed from showroom stock to a fully functional off-grid home and film studio ready to make its debut in the Magnaflow Booth at SEMA.
From NJ to NV
Minutes after finishing, Jason and his father packed up and hit the road straight for Las Vegas.
It was a whirlwind week, but moments like these are what OK4WD is all about. We love to help passionate overlanders bring their visions to life, no matter how ambitious.
We can’t wait to see where Jason takes this Grenadier next as he continues filming his fly-fishing and overlanding series across North America. After all, when your truck is your studio, your home away from home, and your mode of transportation to the next great location, every mile is part of the story.
