Our Overland-Ready Ineos Grenadier
When the Ineos Grenadier first rolled into our shop at OK4WD, we knew this wasn’t just another 4x4. Purpose-built, rugged, and unapologetically functional, the Grenadier is a modern homage to old-school off-road engineering—and the perfect platform for an overlanding transformation. We set out to lift it, equip it, and turn it into a self-sufficient rig capable of tackling remote trails and multi-day expeditions with confidence. And let’s just say, it didn’t disappoint.

The Grenadier brings serious capability to the table. With its box-section ladder frame, front and rear solid axles, locking differentials, and torque-rich BMW straight-six under the hood, it’s clear this rig wasn’t designed to live in mall parking lots. While its stock form is impressive, we knew it had room to grow—especially for the type of terrain our customers love to explore.
At OK4WD, we believe every build should match the driver’s goals and this one was destined for backcountry overland travel: long days on trail, remote camping, and the kind of reliability you need when help is hours away. That meant upgrading clearance, protection, storage, and living space to compliment complete self-sufficiency.
Our Ineos Grenadier fitted with Eibach coils and Ohlins remote reservoir shocks.Suspension and Lift: Making Room for Adventure
The stock setup of the Ineos Grenadier is solid, but we wanted more clearance, articulation, and load-handling capacity. We installed Eibach 30mm coil springs in the front and rear of our overland-ready Ineos Grenadier with Ohlins remote reservoir shocks adding just over 2 inches of lift. Designed specifically for overland loads, this kit improves ride quality both on- and off-road while giving us the space to run larger tires without rubbing under flex.

With the extra clearance, we stepped up to a set of 285/75R BFGoodrich KO2 All-Terrain tires for dependable traction in nearly any environment. These tires balance aggressive off-road grip with smooth highway manners and long tread life, making them ideal for overland travel.
We wrapped these fresh treads around a set of 17” Braid Fullrace T Dakar wheels finished in matte black. Not only do they look sharp, but they’re also built to handle tough trail abuse thanks to their strong construction. Function meets form, as always.
Armor and Protection: Built for the Unknown
Overlanding often means heading into unpredictable terrain, so protecting the vital components is a must. We added a GP Factor Bull Bar and Winch Bumper to the front to product the grill and fenders and Buzz Overland sliders to protect the rocker panels from trail damage. The sliders double as steps making them very practical of off-trail travel.

No serious overland rig leaves home without a recovery plan. We installed a ComeUP Seal Slim 12.5 RS winch with a synthetic line for lightweight, safe, and powerful recovery capability. Controlled via wireless remote, this winch gives us peace of mind whether crossing muddy tracks or assisting a fellow traveler.
In addition, we’ve mounted Maxtrax recovery boards to the rear mounted tire using GP Factor Recover Board Latches. It’s not about “if” you’ll get stuck—it’s about being ready when you do.
Interior Storage and Living: Expanded Carrying Capacity
Storage is crucial for overland travel, and the Grenadier is the perfect platform for storage and living conversion. Here’s what we did to build our overland-ready Ineos Grenadier –

We cut the roof and installed an Alu-Cab Selinus Roof Conversion. Yep, that’s right, chopped in the shop! With room for 2 adults and ample head room, our Grenadier is ready for life on the road.
A complete interior living system in our Ineos Grenadier.
Interior Storage
These are just cabinets, this is a living system with water, storage a stove and ample surface for food prep. The GP Factor Interior System has it all. Paired with a Buzz Overland base plate, this interior living system includes bench seating when you’re finding refuge from inclement weather.
Other Features
On the rear door, the GP Factor Drop Table doubles as a prep surface and cutting board. There’s even extra storage behind the table for things like spices, gloves and head lamps.
With an Alu-Cab 270 Degree Shadow Awning, shelter from the sun and rain is priceless. Alu-Cab’s unique solar reflective material separates their awning from other products on the market.
Lighting: Visibility On and Off Trail
We equipped the Grenadier with a full suite of auxiliary lighting from Buzz Overland. The Buzz Reverse/Work Light doubles as a trail aid and camp lighting solution while the Buzz Overland Factory Spot Light Upgrade is the perfect solution for lighting up any trail.
Night runs, late camp setups, or emergency situations—whatever the reason, you’ll never be left in the dark with Buzz Overland’s lighting solutions.
Power: Simple and Effective
Inside, we kept things simple but effective. A dual-battery management system powers all auxiliary electronics independently from the starter battery, with solar input for extended time off-grid.
Our auxiliary REDARC Alpha 150 battery is mounted with a GP Factor Battery Tie Down and charging is managed using a REDARC BCDC Alpha 50 kit. When the vehicle isn’t running and charging our auxiliary battery, we’re using six Sunflare 50W BLOX solar panels to absorb power from the sun.
Now our overland-ready Ineos Grenadier can keep itself powered whether you're working remote or basecamping next to an epic trout stream in the Rocky Mountains.

This build was about more than just bolting on parts—it was about turning a highly capable factory platform into a true overland machine. Our overland-ready Ineos Grenadier now stands taller, rides smoother, carries more, and performs better in all the conditions it was designed for. Whether it’s Vermont’s rocky Class IV roads, Utah’s high desert, or snowy winter Appalachian adventures, this rig is ready to roll.
At OK4WD, we take pride in every build we put our name on—and our overland-ready Ineos Grenadier is no exception. It’s the kind of rig we’d take on our own adventures, because we know it’ll deliver.
