Previously outfitted at our shop with an Icon Vehicle Dynamics Stage 2, Tubular 3.5" Suspension System and new wheels and tires, this customer took another step closer towards transforming his 2018 4Runner into his ultimate overlanding vehicle. Under the hood, we equipped an Off Grid Dual Battery System with a Red Top and a Yellow Top Optima Batteries. We wired the Red Top as the starting battery with the Yellow Top for auxiliary power. For power distribution, we hooked up an sPOD Bantam system to control all accessories as well as make adding new accessories in the future, such as extra LED lighting, quick and easy. The Bantam is a small, 8-circuit (expandable) control system that provides a clean- one ethernet cable into the cab- and safe way to power and control 12/24VDC accessories. No cutting, fishing wires into the cab, or tapping into the vehicle‘s electrical system. Plus, with its small footprint the placement options for the Bantam are endless.
Above the sPOD, we mounted an ARB On-Board High Performance Twin Air Compressor with a Rago Fabrication ARB Air Compressor Mount. ARB's on board compressors continue to be the gold standard for on-broad air needs. Compact and yet high-volume, ARB's twin compressor suits the high volume airflow needs of rapid inflation tires, most air powered tools, actuation and control requirements of the ARB Air Locker. In addition, the CKMTA12 will not let you down on durability and is designed to withstand the harsh and demanding environment of the ARB Air Locker user. Lastly, to control current and future accessories, we installed a Blue Sea Water Resistant USB Accessory Panel that is conveniently located on the dashboard. This panel includes a circuit breaker, dual USB charger, and a mini voltmeter to track the power levels of the dual batteries.
Moving to the trunk, we installed two ARB Outback Solutions Drawers secured to a Goose Gear Plate System to keep all gear- such as the recently purchased ARB Tire Inflation Kit, ARB Digital Tire Inflator, and ARB EZ Tire Deflator- neat and organized during transit and when you need it. For larger gear, we installed a Front Runner Slimline II Roof Rack.
