GP Factor is proud to introduce another amazing USA-made product to the INEOS Grenadier lineup: The INEOS Grenadier Rock Sliders from GP Factor. We have been working on these for a long time, wanting to make sure we got them right for years of abuse while maintaining proper styling that matches the rugged design of the Grenadier. There are many details that go into why these are some of the beefiest, strongest sliders on the market. Let’s dive into the details of what makes this rock slider the best option for your INEOS Grenadier.

Design / Styling / Utility

The INEOS Grenadier has its own unique classic style, and we wanted the rock sliders to match that. The design features a classic tubular welded-to-rectangular style. This design provides useful features and durability, all while matching the styling of the truck.

The slider tube protrudes enough from the rectangular tubing to allow added protection while also providing a small utility step when needed. It’s a fully dedicated rock slider and utility step without being a large step that sticks out too far.

Construction

The main body of the sliders is constructed from A36 A1011 HRPO Steel ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) round tube, measuring 1.9” OD with a .120 wall thickness — the exact same tube used on our INEOS Grenadier Bull Bar. This tube is welded to an A36 A1011 HRPO Steel ERW rectangular tube measuring 3” x 1.5” with a .120 wall thickness. The tubes are welded on each end, as well as with four support brackets per side for added durability. The outer tube of the slider protrudes 3.6” from the side of the vehicle and the main body of the slider.

The mounts for the sliders are made up of three separate pieces, all bolting directly to the factory chassis. The mounts are separate so they can be made from much thicker material and construction for added durability. All three mounts are fully constructed from ¼” HRPO A36 prime steel.

The mounts bolt to the sliders using the most durable option for adding a threaded hole to tubing. The threads for securing the mounts use a full CNC M12 threaded sleeve that nests through the entire tube of the main body of the slider. This sleeve is chamfered front and rear and welded on both sides of the rectangular tubing, ensuring no failure from a nut spinning out or falling through. Welding a threaded sleeve or bung completely through the tube is widely considered one of the strongest and most reliable methods for adding threads, especially in high-load, suspension, and safety-critical applications. This process creates a rigid structure that can exceed the strength of the original tubing.

Finish

The main body of the slider is properly steel shot blasted to prep the surface, then zinc primed and textured black powder coated. The same finish has been proven for years on GP Bull Bars and winch kits. The textured black powder coat matches the INEOS perfectly, providing a durable, sleek look and finish.

Since the mounts are not visible under the vehicle, the finish on those is different. All ¼” steel mounts are finished with a Yellow Zinc Chromate coating. Yellow zinc chromate (often called yellow zinc plating, yellow passivate, or historically yellow dichromate) is a very common protective finish for automotive steel hardware and components. It combines a zinc electroplated coating with a chromate conversion layer that gives the characteristic gold/yellow/iridescent appearance.

The zinc layer acts as a sacrificial coating, where the zinc corrodes before the underlying steel does, protecting the steel from rust. The chromate conversion layer seals the zinc surface, slows white rust formation, and improves resistance to moisture and road salts. Compared with plain zinc plating, yellow chromate significantly improves salt-spray performance.

A lot of attention to detail went into the design, manufacturing, and production of these sliders. Like all GP Factor products, these sliders are fully designed, manufactured, laser cut, formed, welded, finished, packaged, and shipped right in Lancaster, PA. Even the boxes are manufactured in Lancaster, PA. GP Factor prides itself on producing the best possible products using the best manufacturing available right here in the United States of America.
