Why I Always Pack the Dometic GO Compact Camp Bench 

After a few seasons of overlanding and extending family camping trips, I’ve learned the hard way that not all camp furniture is created equal. Some are too bulky, some fall apart after a few uses, and some are just plain uncomfortable. All said, the Dometic GO Compact Camp Bench has genuinely earned its place in my permanent gear setup. 

Packs Small, Seats Two 

What sold me right away was how compact this thing is. Folded up, it’s smaller than most single camp chairs I’ve owned but it comfortably fits two adults. Whether it’s my wife and me sipping morning coffee or friends gathering around the fire, it’s great to have that extra seating without lugging around more gear. 

Built Like a Tank (But Still Lightweight) 

I’ve thrown a lot at this bench - mud, rain, gear bags, kids climbing all over it, doubling as a dinning table and it’s held up incredibly well. The frame is aluminum, so it’s light enough to toss in and out of the rig, but it doesn’t feel flimsy. The 600D fabric is tough, and the whole thing supports up to 300 lbs without flexing or wobbling. 

I love this thing and all my friends think it’s the coolest. The Dometic GO Compact Camp Bench great to have that ‘extra seat’ for someone that forgot their chair.

Sets Up in Seconds 

I don’t like messing around with fussy gear at camp. This bench pops open in a second, and packs down just as fast into its included carry bag. It’s the kind of no-hassle furniture I really appreciate when I roll into camp late and just want to set up and relax. 

More Than Just a Bench 

I’ve used this thing as a footrest, a cooler stand, a makeshift table, and even a gear drop zone when I’m unpacking. It’s simple, but super versatile—exactly what you want when space and function matter. 

Final Thoughts 

For the price (under $100–$140), the Dometic GO Compact Camp Bench hits that sweet spot between durable and portable. It’s become one of those “why didn’t I get this sooner?” pieces of gear. If you’re camping with a partner, have kids, or just want something that does more than your average chair, I can’t recommend it enough.
