The Columbus Variant roof top tent range is the perfect camping solution for any American adventurer. Available in 4 different sizes and lengths, this tent's fluid, clean, and aerodynamic design is pleasing to the eye and can be mounted on anything from a Mini Cooper to a Land Rover Defender. Note that loading the roof, aka "piggybacking," is not available on the Extra Long or X-Large models.
The upper shell contains 2, 3, or 4 pillows, depending on the model, and other night-time accessories or personal effects. You can even store a rucksack, blankets, a beauty-case, or other travel accessories inside the tent, freeing up trunk space.
When choosing a roof tent, the shell height is important for comfort and maneuverability. The Columbus Variant has been carefully calculated to ensure that a person of average height (5'7"-6'3") can sit comfortably without the head coming close to the ceiling. The overall length of 82.7 inches provides ample space for rucksacks or large blankets. If you're tall, the X-LONG model is the best choice.
Note: the dimensions indicated refer to the size of the shells. Due to handcrafted techniques in different molds and configurations (Maggiolina/Columbus/Airtop), their length and width may vary +/- 1.18 inches.
The tent's width (SMALL/MEDIUM/LARGE) corresponds to the number of occupants, and the door is as wide as possible at 29.5 inches. The doors become large windows that can be adjusted for optimum visibility. Even when the traditional version has the windows open (in a rough half circle), privacy is not compromised.
The rear door has adjustable openings to your liking, and standard bases include 2 strong C-shaped steel bars to hook the tent onto the vehicle roof rails, using the clamps supplied. Choose the Columbus Variant roof top tent range for a comfortable and convenient camping experience.
