On-Board Air Compressors

In This Article We will Cover:

Benefits of On-Board Air

The first rule to offroading is traction, the simplest way to achieve more traction is by airing down your tires. So what do you do when the trail ends and the road begins?

Traveling on paved roads on deflated tires is extremely dangerous. Driving on deflated tires produces excessive amounts of heat, which deteriorates the side wall and can cause a blow-out. Getting the tires inflated before road use can be done simply with a compact air compressor.

When airing your tires down doesn't provide enough traction the second rule to grip is getting power to the tire with the most grip. An Air-Locker differential uses an on-board air system to engage the differential. With the flip of a switch the locker is engaged and both axles now have equal power to conquer an obstacle.

The benefits don't stop with off-road traction, here are a few examples of times an air compressor is beneficial:

  • Inflating camping accessories
  • running air tools
  • clear dust filled air filters
  • re-seat a tire

Vehicle Mounted Air Compressors (On-Board Air System)

Twin Motor

ARB's Twin Motor compressor provides the highest flow rate on the market. Fill tires, run power tools, work or play the twin motor compressor does it all. The kit comes with a tidy wiring loom, 6 meter air hose, and mounting bracket. Available in both portable and vehicle mounted configurations.

The twin motors incorporate internal thermal protection against extreme temperature damage. Along with a heavy duty in-line maxi fuse for each motor provides professional circuit protection.

Single High Output

The ARB Single High Output Air Compressor has been constructed entirely of lightweight, high-grade materials. Available in both portable and vehicle mounted configurations.

The single high output compressor neatly installs under the hood of most vehicles. Thee compressor is powered by the battery located just inches away. With a mounting plate the compressor, relays and air valve are all tightly installed. This compact design eliminates mounting the compressor and accessories in hard to reach places.

The vehicle mounted kit comes with a full wiring loom, 6 meter air hose, and mounting bracket for easy installation.

Portable Air Compressors

Permanently mounting the air compressor in a vehicle may not be ideal for some people. If you have multiple vehicles or prefer a portable version ARB makes all of their air compressors in a portable version. Conveniently packaged in a durable travel case, the process to power the compressor is simple. Connect the two battery terminals and the compressor will begin to fill the the 1 Gallon (4L) air tank.

The addition of the 1 Gallon air tank allows the compressor to turn off after filling the tank. Allowing the compressor to rest while working with the air in the tank. Similarly, filling the tank before use to make for a quick tire fill or air tool use without the need to open the hood.

Accessories

Digital Tire Inflator

The ARB digital tire inflator makes checking and adjusting your vehicle’s tire pressures a fast and simple operation thanks to its large easy to read digital display, big thumb operated inflator button and easy access deflator bleed button. The tire inflator comes packaged in a thick nylon carrying case to help protect the screen and keep your recovery gear organized.

Air Locker Manifold Kit

The Air Locker Manifold Kit enables easy installation of Air Locker solenoids to an air compressor. With a working pressure of 150Psi (1030kPa), the manifold kit incorporates multiple ports for use with ARB’s Pump Up kit

EZ Digital Tire Deflator

Adding to the existing, ever-reliable analogue E-Z Deflator,
ARB offers a new digital gauge to make deflation even easier. With accuracy of up to +/-1psi at 15-75psi and
a large digital read out

1 Gallon (4L) Air Tank

The 1 gallon (4L) aluminium air tank delivers high volume air output. Suitable for rapid tire inflation and running most air tools. 50% lighter than an equivalent steel tank, the tank incorporates two 1/4 NPT ports with JIC-4 male fittings and mounting hardware for easy installation.

Air Locker Activation System

Designed specifically for Air Locker activation. The sealed moisture and dust resistance compact on-board compressor comes with a full wiring loom for simplified installation and plug-in connectivity to Air Locker control solenoids.
