Awnings

Adding an awning to your vehicle creates a living space that provides protection from the sun and inclement weather. If you are heading out on an off-grid week long adventure or spending the afternoon in the park, traveling with an awning gives you a space to escape from the suns rays, always have shade and cover from a passing storm.

In this article we will cover

ARB Awning

The ARB awnings withstand the elements with an aluminium structure and anodized telescoping legs. Along with a heavy duty poly/cotton non rip canvas with a UV+50 rating. All this wrapped into a heavy duty nylon PVC reinforced Bag. An alternative aluminium enclosure style housing is available as well.

Additional walls can be purchased to further expand the shade below the awning or convert the awning into a enclosed living space.

ARB's awnings can be installed on most vehicles factory crossbars. With two simple brackets attaching the all-in-one package to the outermost point of crossbars is simple. This small, simple design makes deployment and setup take only a matter of minutes.

Sizes: ARB has to available size options available on our website or in store.

Alu-Cab 270º Shadow Awning

What makes the Alu-Cab Shadow awning globally famous is four major design elements. First, the 270º of coverage goes from the front door of the vehicle all the way around to the rear. Shade and weather protection while cooking and retrieving equipment from the rear of the vehicle unlike any other awning. The awning canvas has a silver heat reflective coating that lowers the temperature under the awning.

Additional walls can be purchased to transform the awning into a fully enclosed room.

Second, the Sun Shadow Awning deploys without the need of support legs or guy wires. The awning features four heavy-duty aluminium arms, if the weather turns for the worst, the awning's center arm hides a drop-down pole to use as extra support. On top of that each arm has a tie down strap for extreme gusts.

Third major design addition is the available rain gutter. The rain gutter installs between the vehicle and the heavy duty storage bag the awning stores in. Allowing vehicle doors to be left open during rain showers while the rain is channeled out rather than into your vehicle.

Lastly, is the simplicity of deployment. After unzipping the awnings storage bag, the awning is walked out and attacked to a single high strength aluminium latch on the far side of the vehicle. All in a matter of seconds.

Occasions for use

Awnings simple deployment and minimal storage space are a great replacement for the typical pop up canopy. Pop up canopy's take up valuable space inside a vehicle, and require seats to be folded down in order to fit the tent. Replacing you typical pop-up with an awning takes up no space in your vehicle, is a single person set up, and stores in a weather tight bag that can remain on your vehicle year round. Add an awning to your next outdoor activity:

  • Camping
  • Sporting events
    • club sports, children's team sports
  • Tailgate
  • Vehicle repairs
  • Home base for outdoor activities
    • mountain biking
    • hiking
    • kayaking

We'd love to hear from you!
