Adventure found a new home in this Jeep JKU. We outfitted it with an Alu-Cab Gen 3 Expedition Tent, which is has to be one of the best overlanding tents on the market. Previously, this JKU was outfitted, first, with a Frontrunner RTT and then with a James Baroud RRT. Both did not stand up to this rig's level of adventure. Constructed of strong aluminum outer casting and base, the Alu-Cab Gen 3 has a reduced chance of cracking and can handle carrying your overlanding gear- jacks, maxtrax, bikes, canoes, kayaks, etc.- up top.
In addition, compared to the previous model, the gen 3 is lighter and sports a tapered, aerodynamic design from the front while widening at the back in order provide an extra 4" of shoulder room in the back. When the tent is up, rain or shine, weather will not impact your comfort inside the tent. Crafted out of 400 gram UV-resistant rib-lock waterproof canvas with sealed seams, water and harmful UV rays will stay out. Opening and closing this tent takes seconds and bedding can remain within the tent, so there is no waste of time making your bed or packing up your gear. You can just jump right into your adventure! Other perks include a high density foam mattress, polyethylene closed cell foam insulation, fabric pockets (located on the ceiling) to store your footwear, and a ceiling national luna light.
