Jeep JLU Rock Crawler

Our Pro's in the shop striped a brand new 2023 JLU Rubicon of its axels and suspension and converted it from a plain truck to a complete turn-key Jeep JLU rock crawler. Check out the full list of improvements, photographs, and video that followed the complete transformation.

Parts List:

Suspension:

Evo Manufacturing Long Arm Pro Suspension

Kit includes 3-5" lift King Coilovers, control arms, limiting straps, and all brackets and hardware required for installation. This kit requires cutting and welding.

Axels:

Dynatrac Hardcore Plus XD60 with Eaton air lockers, 4.88 gears, and Dynatrac's steering kit with PSC's steering assist kit. We also installed custom Tom Woods driveshafts.

Wheels and Tires:

KMC Grenade Crawl Beadlock Wheels with 40x13.5 Nitto Trail Grappler Tires

Accessories:

Goose Gear Base Plate, fridge slide, and GP Factor Tailgate Table

Midland 575 GMRS Radio

The first order of business was to remove the Jeeps stock axles, drivetrain, suspension, and drive shafts to gain access to the frame rails and pre-threaded mounting points to start placing the weld-on brackets into place.

After tacking the control arm brackets into place and test fitting, the brackets are then fully welded into place. A fresh coat of paint is added to prevent any rust later down the road. The exact process is done on the passenger side.

The new suspension is installed using relocation brackets and the control arms before rolling the new Dynatrac axels under the jeep. The control arms were then attached to the axle. After checking travel, angles, and clearance, the suspension, steering components, and limiting straps were bolted into place.

While the truck is being built, the KMC Grenade Crawl Beadlock Wheels were laced up with Nitto Tire Trail Grappler tires measuring: 40x13.5 17. Along with the gnarly rock-crawling capable products added to the Jeep, the team added communications with a Midland MXT575 GMRS.
