We are not a wall street owned business. We are a family owned business, that puts people over profits. Stockholders and accountants don’t run our business, you, our customer and our partner, help us run this business. We appreciate loyal customers who love quality service and quality products from a company that cares and gives back to the community. Greed and egos don’t steer the direction our company goes, instead reputation and the love of sharing our passion, knowledge and skill of the 4WD market is what motivates us.

We care about your satisfaction and that is why we strive to always sell products that are of the highest quality. We will not sell junk just to make a quick buck. You work hard for your money like we do, and buying quality saves you money and aggravation in the long run. We travel the world to find the best products and partner with vendors who share the same philosophy as us. We know they will be there to stand behind the products they sell. We use many of the parts we sell and recommend on our own vehicles and adventures. That has been our philosophy since we started in 1979 - only sell and recommend parts we would trust on our own vehicle.

Our building and our processes are all designed around sustainability. This enables us to care about the future and also to do more with less. Our solar array, allows us to be a net zero, clean energy company and our computerized initiative to be paperless plus our recycling efforts, are actually helping our environment and reducing our overhead. This helps us to stay competitive and bring you value. Our business is in a very rural area and we want to be good neighbors in our community. Our family has been in this beautiful area of N.J. for over 200 years, and still live on the same family farm land for 6 generations.

Here at OK Auto, 4WD & Tire, being more aware of our carbon footprint is a no brainer. As outdoor enthusiast, we strive to make concious decisions throughout our daily workday to decrease our impact on the environment. Below are some of the things we have done:

Solar Power

Starting in late 2011, the project to become 100% solar dependent started. After many months of work, the switch was flipped on March 6th, 2012. On sunny days, we will be 100% dependant on solar energy. On days where the sun can't break through the clouds, our batteries, which has been filled by the suns rays will keep us running until we are out. At that time, we are switched back to the grid. We strive to limit unnecessary waste in all we do. We recycle our cardboard, paper, glass, and metal products. We recycle scrap metals and tires in our shop and heat our shop with recycled waste oil that we accumulate throughout the year. We ship our products using recycled pallets, cardboard and packing material whenever possible.


  • 1979

    OK4X4 founded in Springtown out of a two bay garage gas station after owner James Oostdyk rolled his CJ.

  • 1980

    Worked with Ralph at Meadowlands 4WD to help New Jersey create fair lift laws.

  • 1985

    Company name changed to OK Auto, 4WD & Tire.

    First catalog released.

    Original store remodeled.

  • 1988

    OK4WD moved operations to Stewartsville (current location).

    Installed first ARB 4x4 Air Locker in the United States.

    Computerized inventory and sales

    BFG T/A Top Achiever Award (achieved every year this program was available - 9 years total)

  • 1989

    First OKtober Truckfest event was held.

  • 1995

    Expanded shop and warehouse.

    Helped facilitate and promote NASCAR Truck Series at Flemington Speedway

  • 1998

    First website launched.

  • 1999

    Helped with the design and testing of the first Pit Bull Off-road Tire.

  • 2001

    First American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) Dealer

  • 2006

    Held first 4x4Tour.

  • 2007

    Expanded warehouse and showroom. Grand re-opening May 5.

  • 2013

    Became James Baroud importer and distributor.

  • 2016

    Became Alu-Cab importer and distributor.

  • 2017

    First SEMA Booth.
