Recap: Overland Expo East 2018
Overland Expo East 2018:
This year Overland Expo East was all combinations of weather and fun. Held at scenic Oskar Blue's REEB Ranch just south of Asheville, NC from November 9th to 11th, venders, sponsors, outdoor enthusiasts and offroading enthusiasts traveled from all over the globe and country to congregate at REEB Ranch for this year's event. From day one, the grounds were overflowing with vehicles, people, children, tents, dogs, as well as mud- lots and lots of mud due to heavy rains on Friday, which turned up the ground and made it into a good six inches of mud. However, the sun came out and dried things up on Saturday. The final day was greeted with an early-morning frost and cold temperatures below and around freezing. However, despite the cold, rain, and muddy boots, Overland Expo East was a great success for both venders and offroaders alike.
The OK4WD crew began their trek down to Asheville in a grand caravan of vehicles late Tuesday afternoon and arrived Wednesday to set up for the start of the Expo on Friday. We hauled a lot of great quality product with us such as ARB's Fridge Freezers, MaxTrax recovery traction panels, Wrappon's electric waterless portable toliets, Alu-Cab Shadow Awnings, and much more. We also displayed an Alu-Cab Khaya Camper as well as two brand new Canopy Campers, which were a big hit. Alu-Cab's Canopy Camper, as opposed to the Khaya Camper that has all your needed amenities for camping, leaves the bed of the truck empty, which allows you the freedom to fill and pack it up with any gear and supplies you like for your adventures. These campers are top grade, designed to last, and proven in South Africa.
Many thanks to Oskar Blue's and Overland Expo. Asheville is a great city with unique people, beautiful scenery, and awesome BBQ and breweries. We hope to see you next year for Overland Expo West.
