James Baroud Space Rooftop Tent
The unique design of the Spac, James Baroud roof tent combines the compact roof profile of the Discovery Evolution with the proven design of the Explorer Evolution and Grand Raid Evolution. Now with 50-cms headroom at the front and 145-cms at the rear this James Baroud roof tent allows for an adult to sit upright at the rear of the tent, this increases the functionality of the tent. You can have a bit of a stretch or perhaps get changed. The innovative new raked roof profile also increases air circulation through the tent. The larger doors and windows providing fantastic cross flow ventilation. For extreme conditions ventilation can also be assisted in the James Baroud roof tent by the solar powered ventilation system, which comes standard on this hard-top roof-top tent.
Remember that the blades in these vents can be reversed to convert the fan into an extractor, now that’s clever. Access to this hard-top roof-top tent is easily gained using the folding ladder provided with each tent. The ladder attaches to the lower hull and the specially designed, telescoping legs adjust to the movement of the vehicle as you enter and leave.

All in all – it takes around 15 seconds to completely close and latch the top shell to the bottom and you’re ready to continue down the trail!
Durability & Weatherproof
No one wants to be caught in a storm while in a rooftop tent. Combine heavy rain with high winds – it makes even the toughest adventurers cringe. While we hope you never find yourself in the situation, you can sleep in confidence knowing that James Baroud tents are waterproof and tested upto 74mph (120Km/hr).
The canvas is dark gray made of six (6) aluminized coats that reflect the sun’s ray. This is critical as in warmer climates a rooftop tent without the ability to reflect heat and air ventilation will turn into an oven. The canvas is also UV resistant, 100% waterproof but allows air to circulate to resist mildew – a common occurrence with other materials in wet climates. All seams are doubled for the utmost ruggedness and are 100% watertight.
The inside of the canvas includes two removable pockets and a storage net on the ceiling. Three zipped canvas doors with a double slider are fitted with insect screens to keep those pesky bugs out. A window with an insect screen is integrated to the back door with an eave to protect from rain.
The mattress is made from a high density foam and comes with a heavy duty zipped cover.
The James Baroud roof tent comes with a 15 high intensity LED indoor light which doubles as a removable rechargeable flashlight. All wiring is supplied with the hard-top roof-top tent. The flashlight has an unbreakable polycarbonate lens and a battery charge indicator.
If you’ve owned a rooftop tent or known someone who has; you know how hot a rooftop tent can get. You also know how one that stays on the roof may develop a mildew smell. Standard with James Baroud tents, it comes with an automatic and silent MCV (motorized controlled ventilation) which is powered by a 24 hour life battery which can be recharged by an integrated solar panel kit. This MCV has the capacity of 11.6 M3/mn (2905 UK gal/mn) and prevent all condensation and remove stored heat to avoid moisture and mould.
A second propeller is supplied with reverse blades to act as a fan. The fans are easily exchanged from inside the tent.

Sweet setup.I've had this for a year now and about 8 trips. Very nice to just pull up to a spot and crash in minutes. Great for wandering around hunting. I have it on my 4X4 fulsize pickup.
I'm 5'10 and it is good for up to about 6 ft tall. I'd go for the XL if I was much taller. The height and room feels good for two. The fan works, it never has any condensate inside. So nice that you can leave the solar fan on for a few days to air it out!
Totally waterproof \ storm proof, I had 4 days of hunting in the wind, sleet, and rain, no problem.
I let one of my dumber friend drive and he hit a freaking 4 inch tree branch on the front of the tent. No damage, they are tough tents.
2 things to make it work nice:
1. Do not zip the side doors all the way down before closing. They poke out a bit and make it tough to close and bind. That isn't in the instructions, leave it open about 3-4 inches. I was a bit annoyed until I figured that out!
2. The mattress pad isn't really good enough by itself. Just plan on putting some high density foam and glue to the bottom or pick up a 1-2 inch memory foam mattress topper (queen size and cut it down to size) on top. MUCH more comfortable.
You have no items to compare.
